- Changes in the composition of the Management Board and the Supervisory Board of Mediatel S.A.

Today the composition of the Management Board has changed. Mr Marcin Kubit filed his resignation from the position of the President of the Management Board, at the same time Ms Iwona Rytel filed her resignation from the position of a Member of the Management Board. They both are remaining in the Company. Mr Marcin Kubit shall use his knowledge and experience at the position of a Member of the Supervisory Board of Mediatel S.A. and Iwona Rytel shall continue her professional career as the position of the Chief Financial Officer of the Company. As a result of the said changes, the position of the President of the Management Board was taken over by Mirosław Janisiewicz, who through Rasting Limited holds indirectly the largest block of shares of Mediatel S.A. more >>ASTER acquired 100 % of shares of Mediatel 4B, a company belonging to Mediatel Capital Group since 2008. In view of the strategy of Mediatel Capital Group, a concluded acquisition contract is a key decision for the Company.

more >>Mediatel joined the group of operators operating in TelArena in FreecoNet. The Company shall compete for the operation of calls to numbers not registered on the platform.
- All the calls generated between the users of FreecoNet are free of charge, calls to numbers not registered on the platform are redirected to TelArena - that is the operators exchange where independent suppliers of telecommunications services compete for operating a given call. The automated system selects the best price rate, therefore the cheapest option gets selected. Mediatel, because of its particularly attractive prices for international calls, shall contribute to the toughening of the price competition between the operators in this segment.

more >>Mediatel Capital Group presented its financial results for the first quarter of the current year. In the said period the Group generated income at the level of 25 million PLN and obtained negative value of EBITDA at the level of 1.9 million PLN.
- - „First quarter of the current year, as we had envisaged, was weaker in comparison to the previous reporting periods. After 8 quarters of dynamic increase and generation of positive financial results, the last quarter brought a decline, as prior assumed. The obtained result was mainly affected by a decline in margins with regard to wholesale operations connected with the launch of the termination services of international calls onto the market. The activities aimed at the attraction of possibly the largest number of clients interested in such services. Further, creating provisions for financing the liabilities also adversely affected the results obtained in the first quarter of the year." - says Mr Marcin Kubit, the President of the Management Board of Mediatel S.A.The strategy of the Company was modified. It is assumed that in 2010 Mediatel Group shall focus mainly on the expansion of wholesale operations connected with the operation of international telephone calls. Moreover, the strategy assumes the extension of the infrastructure platform necessary for offering solutions to business entities interested in the provision of services on the telecommunications market and having no own infrastructure.- „In the first quarter of the year our business activity aimed at strengthening of our position on the market of international services. We have implemented system and software solutions which now allow us to render the services of international calls termination to all our partners. " - adds Mr Marcin Kubit.

more >>Mediatel S.A. and INEA S.A. signed a letter of intent where they expressed their intension to cooperate at the construction of telecommunications infrastructure which shall allow for the provision of mobile telephony services in Wielkopolska region.
- INEA S.A. and Mediatel S.A. are working out the principles of cooperation over the new project. The innovative concept assumes the optimum use of the potentials of the two companies. Involvement of INEA S.A. in the expansion of the infrastructure in Wielkopolska will allow in future for a more attractive offer of the operator as the provider of integrated telecommunications services comprising analogue television, digital television, broadband access to the Internet, landline and mobile telephony.
